 YouTube TV Design Templates

YouTube TV had just introduced a new design system and guidelines, requiring us to produce a high volume of display units that adhered to these updated standards. Creating these assets in Photoshop proved to be time-intensive and limited our efficiency. To address this, I took the initiative to evaluate Figma as a potential new standard tool.

By transitioning our workflow into Figma, the aim was not only to accelerate production but also to ensure tighter alignment with YouTube TV’s evolving design system, improve collaboration across teams, and establish a more scalable, future-ready approach to asset creation.

Too many files

Opening dozens of working files to make a small update, then re-exporting one by one for each asset under each partner. This would sometimes take hours.

Too many iterations without a system of organization made passing off files time-consuming.

Inconsistent assets

Multiple assets had inconsistent logo placements, type placements, CTA sizes and margins.

Too many extra steps

From syncing heavy files to doomscrolling through the spec sheet, there are a lot of non-design-friendly extra steps involved.
